Kolakakor (Toffee Biscuits)
Crispy biscuits with a taste of toffee and vanilla

100g softened butter
100 ml (85 g) sugar
1 tbs golden syrup
250 ml (150 g) plain flour
1tsp baking powder

Start the oven and pre-heat to 175 degrees Celsius. Mix together butter and sugar until soft and white. Add the other ingredients and flour mixed with baking powder. Work into a dough. Divide the dough into three equal parts and roll each one into a long sausages about 1.5 cm thick. Place the lengths on a greased oven tray, flatten lightly with the back of a fork. Bake in the middle of the oven for 10-12 minutes at 175 degrees. Take them out and whilst they are still warm cut sideways into diamond shaped biscuits. Place on a wire rack to cool.
